What’s the point of life if not to try your hardest?

You have great goals. I know you do. We all have.

But in this world of relative safety and maximal comfort, it’s very easy to get distracted by day-to-day life.

You have a job, maybe a family, and bills to pay. At the end of an already long day, it is hard to stay motivated to push even further. To grow that side business, to learn a new language or a new skill.

And that’s especially because it is hard that you should do it.

If it was easy, everybody would do it.

Hustling has a bad reputation, but it shouldn’t

Right now we see a massive increase in content that tells you you don’t have to hustle or try hard when it comes to reaching your goals.

They say that you will feel miserable and that it is not necessary to get what you want. Of course, it’s easy for those people to say that when they already reach their goals with hard work and are now slowing down.

The truth is: it doesn’t matter if it’s toxic. It doesn’t matter if you are not ‘happy’ for a while.

When you think about it, you are just one person among 8 other billions. If you don’t try to reach your goals then, what’s even the point of being here?

It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy the process, you should. But if it sucks sometimes, that should not impact you. You should still keep going and keep pushing. Nobody else will do it for you.

And trust me, when you look at yourself in the mirror while giving everything you have, it feels great. You get this sense of purpose that is hard to replicate when settling into a life you are okay with, but not proud of.

One of the best books that explain this greatly is “Can’t hurt me” by David Goggins. This guy was not afraid to go through moments that really sucked, as long as it was necessary to get to where he wanted to go.

There aren’t that many things that you cannot do

If there is one thing that my short life has told me, is that there are unlimited possibilities in your life. You can be and do whatever you want. You just need two qualities…
